JOB TITLE : DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for supporting the CEO in translating the Company's goals, mission and vision into actionable business strategy and implementing corporate plans. Primary responsibilities encompass managing the essential operations of the port, implementing strategic initiatives and ensuring the effective management of key services to maximise port infrastructure and profit, managing financial budget and target, enhancing customer service, ensuring regulatory compliance and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders. Additionally, this position necessitates involvement in risk management, business development and driving operational enhancement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and inspire the team to ensure the delivery of key services with the utmost quality and performance standards, ensure alignment with organisational goals and customer expectations
Provide strategic leadership and deliver hands-on management while driving a culture of collaboration, accountability, regulatory compliance and continuous operational improvement across all functions 
Drive talent development and growth through targeted training, coaching and development initiatives aimed at enhancing skillsets, improving overall performance and fostering long-term talent retention and sustainability

Operational Oversight & Management:
Support the CEO in developing and implementing long-term strategic plans aimed at achieving operational excellence, which include enhancing infrastructure and technological capabilities to expand service capacity, improve competitiveness and support sustainable growth
Lead and supervise overall port operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, safety and operational standards and best industry practices
Optimise the key service delivery to increase revenue, reduce operational costs and improve customer satisfaction and retention through data driven decision-making and performance monitoring
Advocate adoption of advanced technologies, including automation and digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, minimise environmental impact and support sustainability goals
Develop and implement innovative solutions that strengthen the port’s competitive advantage and broaden its service capabilities in response to market dynamics
Facilitate conflicts effectively by fostering transparent, consistent and collaborative communication with key stakeholders in line with the Company’s objectives and core values
Provide strategic management and technical guidance across key operational areas, including fleet management, maintenance & repair and engineering by overseeing the planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure cost-effective optimisation and operational readiness of a diverse fleet, while leading and monitoring technical and engineering projects to ensure alignment with organisational strategy, adherence to timelines & budgets and the achievement of targeted outcomes to ensure technical excellence and long-term sustainability
To provide support to CEO and manage all aspects of maintainence and repair, technical oversight, engineering, electrical and facility management.
Serve as a liaison person for key stakeholders, including shareholders, customers, government agencies, business partners and vendors to facilitate seamless operations and promote sustainability

Financial Management:
Collaborate with the Finance team to develop annual budget and long-term financial strategies aligned with organisational goals
Oversee financial performance by driving revenue growth, optimising cost efficiency and evaluating investment opportunities
Monitor financial target progress and ensure achievement of financial goals while maximising profitability

Business Development & Strategic Planning:
Support the CEO in developing and implementing strategic initiatives focused on increasing revenue and overall business growth, which encompasses broadening the service offerings, optimising port operations management, enhancing infrastructure & technology capabilities and exploring new business/investment opportunities
Identify and pursue potential investment avenues and new market ventures, establish strategic alliances and broaden the range of service offerings

Risk Management & Compliance:
Develop and implement risk management strategies and business continuity plans to ensure resilience and mitigate potential impacts on operations, financial stability, safety and corporate reputation
Oversee audit and assessment processes and ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and alignment with industry best practices, while implementing necessary improvements for continuous compliance
REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, Logistics or a related field (relevant Master’s Degree preferred)

10+ years of experience in the maritime, logistics or port operations industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role

Proven track record of driving operational excellence, financial performance and strategic growth in a similar capacity and industry

Skills & Requirements

Strong leadership, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills 

Sound knowledge and deep understanding of port operations, logistics and supply chain management

Excellent business acumen and budget management

Innovative problem solving and excellent communicators adept in delivering excellent customer service

Skilled at strategic planning, innovative solution, stakeholder management, contract negotiation and project management

Possess technical expertise and strategic oversight skills across the key operational areas including port operations, port projects, maintenance & repair, engineering and fleet management

Familiar with relevant regulatory, safety and health standards and industry best practices
