JOB TITLE : ENERGY EFFICIENCY MANAGER
POSITION OVERVIEW
- Responsible for managing and reviewing energy efficiency project development which includes, establishing basic/ detailed engineering design, specification, capital and operations expenditures, execution schedule, tendering contracting in industrial setting.
- Understand project requirements, collecting energy data to understand energy profile and consumption.
- Supervise and review feasibility studies energy simulations basic/ detailed and front-end engineering designs of utility systems
- Liaise with internal engineering team, consultants suppliers to understand, establish, review, validate and issue the project specifications (M&E equipment system, infrastructure structural & civil work) , capital expenditures operation expenditures and the performance guarantees, liaise with customer including presentation and validation
- Liaise
with Malaysian Authorities, utilities and Government Agencies for project
incentives application/ coordination, regular and special inspections, infrastructure
and project authorization, licensing issues and for general project
implementation coordination required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Audits and Compliance
- Conduct physical inspections of
facilities and equipment to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Review standard operating procedures
(SOP) and processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant energy regulations and acts, including key interactions with authorities and agencies.
- Prepare scorecards to track the company’s progress in energy management.
2. Energy-Saving Strategies
- Implement energy benchmarking,
consumption reduction measures, cost-saving initiatives, and greenhouse gas
emission reduction strategies.
- Continuously monitor and verify energy flows.
- Set goals for energy-saving projects and report progress to management and investors.
3. Utility Budget
- Develop an annual budget for energy consumption.
- Estimate projected energy savings and calculate current energy and utilities costs.
4. Project Management
- Propose and lead initiatives aimed at
reducing the carbon footprint.
- Regularly review and set targets for
carbon footprint reduction.
- Take the lead on sustainability projects.
- Conduct research and prepare whitepapers on energy and fuel usage in the port.
5. Technology
- Engage in research and development related to the implementation of green technologies, such as solar and wind power, in port operations and logistics.
- Explore innovative approaches to energy consumption and management.
6. Employee Engagement
- Organize workshops, training sessions,
and communication efforts to educate employees and vendors about energy
management and sustainability.
REQUIREMENTS
- Professional engineer status with 3 to 5 years of experience in energy project management, or possess a degree in Science, Engineering, or Architecture.
- Hold a certificate of competency as an Electrical Services Engineer or as a Competent Electrical Engineer in accordance with the Electricity Regulations 1994.
- Be a Registered Electrical Engineer Manager (REEM) [ST].
- Possess a strong working knowledge of energy utility systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Have strong quantitative and technical
skills related to facilities and equipment.
